Slow Down

Recently I was reminded of the value of contentment. To be content we must first recognize that Christ’ imputed righteousness is the source of security and contentment.

But godliness with contentment is great gain, 1 Timothy 6:6

This means then because we have been made right with God through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus we can rest in whatever circumstance we find ourselves because our greatest eternal need has been met.

Which brings me to this idea: Slow down. Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the pursuit of more, but this is a hamster wheel that never arrives at its destination.

When we shift our focus from the endless pursuit of more we can slow down and give thanks for the many blessings we already have. Foremost of which is the person of Jesus Christ our savior.
