Schedule a Weekly Declutter Day

If you are anything like me... you can't stand clutter. Part of this is due to the fact that I move at the speed of a tornado on ice. I often see items flying past my head as I attempt to do normal tasks like put a fork into the kitchen drawer. Probably because I am a bit clumsy and am usually doing 2 things at once.

Kids items on the floor present an ultimate ninja warrior scenario with the most recent being a 4-foot 3-inch tube with purple construction paper that appeared to be a periscope of sorts.

When you have kids items will be routinely coming into the house and it is important to have a process to keep counters, closets, and toy bins in order.

IMPORTANT: Decluttering is kind of like weeding for your house. Remember, just because you have empty space does not mean it needs to be jammed with stuff!

The solution: use a calendar or something like To-Doist to schedule 1 day a week to get rid of unnecessary items.

I LOVE declutter day, but it is important to make sure your family is on board... I have gone a little crazy with this at times.

And he said to them, Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions. Luke 12:15

Possessions are a good gift from God but it is also nice to live in a house that is clutter free!

Have a great day!

Soli Deo Gloria,
